Great Tips for Your Bahama Cruise

by Candace Right

Now that the hurricane season is basically over, it's the perfect time to head out for a Bahama cruise! With the threat of hurricanes past, you can relax and know that your vacation in "The Isles of June" will be a gorgeous one. So what is the best cruise for you?

Well, there are dozens of companies sailing to the Bahamas. From short day trips to voyages that last more than a week, the cruises vary. For example, you could always embark from Fort Lauderdale and take a one-day cruise to Grand Bahama Island. This is a great way to wind down if you just need a quick getaway from work. One of the biggest advantages is that it's going to be your most economical cruise options.

But maybe you'd rather go on a longer Bahama cruise? That's great! You'll be able to see and experience more. You could opt for a 3-day trip over the weekend from Miami, or you could embark on a 6-day cruise from Norfolk, Virginia. Still too short of a trip? Try a 10-day cruise from out of Baltimore, Maryland. And of course, the Bahamas are just a beautiful trip away from the east coast of the United States. Regardless of how long you have available for your cruise, you're sure to find the perfect opportunity waiting for you!

While on board your cruise, be sure to check out the games, buffets, and entertainment that await you! Cruise ships often have musical acts that look like they came straight from Las Vegas. You could also relax by a pool, enjoy a romantic dance after dinner, or have some drinks in the lounge. And if you're thinking about taking the kids, you're in luck: There are plenty of family cruises that provide day care services and guided games for children.

But unless you have a passport, don't start packing yet-- whether you live in the United States or Canada, you'll need a passport to go on a Bahama cruise. If you hail from another part of the world, you'll need a visa before you can enter the Bahamas. So be sure you research to find out what you'll need ahead of time. Have a fantastic trip!
